The Library Will Be Closed Monday and Tuesday

An upgrade to the South Pasadena Public Library's automated circulation system will mean patrons may now receive notices via email.

If you had placed a hold on a book or are late returning an item you borrowed from the South Pasadena Public Library, you soon may be notified electronically, according to a notice on the city's website.

And because of this upgrade to the Library’s automated circulation and catalog system, the library will be closed to the public on Monday and Tuesday. The last major software upgrade occurred in 2007.

The most eagerly anticipated change brought by the upgrade will be the ability to send out ‘holds available’ and overdue notices to our valued library users via email, the announcement states. Library staff members are busy preparing for the changes by training on the new software, so that there will be little interruption in services to customers after reopening at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
