Sneak Peek: 42nd Street is Coming to South Pas Middle School
Rehearsals are well underway for the Broadway musical set in 1933. Check out this video and photos to get a quick glimpse of the kids singing and dancing.
The South Pasadena Middle School's drama department wants you to come along and listen to their Lullaby of Broadway.
For the first time, SPMS will bring 42nd Street to the student stage. Based on the classic 1933 movie musical of the same name, 42nd Street tells the story of a starry-eyed young actress named Peggy Sawyer who has come to audition for the new Julian Marsh musical that is about to open on Broadway.
The production is a tap musical, and many of the students who hadn't had previous dance experience are learning to tap, said SPMS Director Marion Tompkins.
