Armed Bay Area Man Caught Trying To Break Into Teslas In Colma

When police asked why the man was trying to break into Teslas he gave an unusual response.

COLMA, CA — A man armed with a dirk or a dagger was caught trying to break into Teslas Sept. 15 in Colma, police said.

At around 10:07 p.m. on Sept. 15, Colma Police Department officers said they received a call that a man was trying to break into cars at the Tesla dealership at 1500 Collins Ave.

When police arrived they said they found Alecs Wardlow, 32, of San Francisco, walking away from a parked car.

"The male admitted to officers he had been trying to gain access to the vehicles so he could sit inside," police said.

Officers said they searched him and found a dirk or a dagger in the front pocket of his sweater.

Wardlow was arrested for burglary and being in possession of a concealed dirk/dagger, police said.

He was booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
