Man Accused Of Shooting Into SSF Church

Police allege a man accused of attempted murder fired a gun into a South San Francisco church Tuesday afternoon.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A man arrested Tuesday faces serious charges after police allege he fired a gun into a South San Francisco church.

Police said reports of shots fired came a few minutes before 1:30 p.m. from St. Augustine Catholic Church on Callan Boulevard. Fortunately, police said no one was hit by the gunfire.

Detectives worked with colleagues in San Francisco and San Mateo County to identify a suspect, whom investigators identified Wednesday as Debari Augustine, 22, of San Francisco. Police tracked Augustine to a residence on Hudson Court in San Francisco and arrested him.

He was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of multiple felonies, including attempted murder, shooting into a swelling and possession of an assault weapon.
