SFO Runway Rehab This Weekend: Expect Delays

Breaking: Phase 4 of SFO's rehab of a main runway will cause delays, airport officials say.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Officials at San Francisco International Airport are warning travelers to expect delays this weekend. The airport is entering Phase 4 of a planned nine-part rehabilitation of Runway 10R-28L that will close the runway from Friday at 6 p.m. to Monday at noon.

According to an airport press release, the project will install "new long-lasting LED centerline lights and ground markings." Repaving will also be part of the project, something that hasn't happened to this particular runway since 2008.
