SMCCVB Hosts Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony

From the San Mateo County/Silicon Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau: The San Mateo County/Silicon Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau will hold its annual meeting and awards ceremony, Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront. The luncheon’s keynote speaker will be San Francisco Airport Director Ivar Satero.

Mr. Satero will speak on the latest developments at SFO and the airport’s plans for the future. “We’re all looking forward to hearing Ivar’s update. There are countless projects underway at SFO and everyone is interested in sequence and timing of those projects,” said Anne LeClair, President and CEO of the San Mateo County/Silicon Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Induction of new board chairs and members will take place at this meeting. Chairing the Bureau for 2017 is Clif Clark, General Manager of San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront. Chair-Elect is Marty Cerles, General Manager of the Best Western Plus Lighthouse, Pacifica.

Other officers include Immediate Past Chair Dana Dahl, Beach House Hotel, and Vice Chairs Kandace Bender of SFO, Jim Rebosio, General Manager of the Sheraton Palo Alto Hotel, Jason Dorfman, General Manager of the Doubletree Hotel SFO North, Brisbane and Irby Morvant, General Manager Hyatt Regency SFO, Burlingame. Serving as Treasurer is Jeff Bass, CEO of the Hiller Aviation Museum, and as Secretary, Mitch Postel, President of the San Mateo County History Museum.

Also on the Bureau board for 2017 are Trevor Bridge, Costanoa Resort, Bill Dixon, Hotel Focus SFO, Jim Ensign, Holiday Inn & Suites and San Mateo SFO Hotel, Michael Forino, HYATT house, Simone Harms, The Westin & Aloft S.F. Local hospitality representatives will receive awards as a key part of the event. The Margi Grant Heart of Hospitality Award and Peninsula Recognition of Passionate Service Awards (PROPS) award winners will also be revealed.
