Over 2 Feet Of Coastal Flooding Could Hit SMC, Warning Issued: NWS
The National Weather Service issued a coastal flooding warning for the Bay Area.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Due to the combination of king tides and a storm surge, the National Weather Service issued a Coastal Flood Warning Friday in San Mateo County and the Bay Area.
The NWS stated many roads may be closed due to flooding over the weekend. The weather service said to expect strong southerly winds Friday and Saturday, thunderstorms from Friday night through Sunday and rain is expected through Monday.
Hazardous beach conditions are also expected Sunday and Thursday, the NWS stated.

Sandbags are available to Pacifica residents for flood control purposes only.
Each resident may pick up a maximum of 15 sandbags and may also be required to fill the sandbags with sand provided by the city.

Sandbags can be picked up at either of the following sites:
Pacifica Council Chambers Parking Lot
2212 Beach Blvd.
Linda Mar Fire Station
1100 Linda Mar Blvd.
Sandbags are not furnished to contractors or for business and home construction projects.
The NWS advised locals to avoid flood prone areas, use longer dock lines and ensure keel clearance.
