Upcoming South SF Construction Could Affect Commutes

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- New residential and commercial developments are coming to South San Francisco, and as part of the process, construction taking place in some parts of the city may lead to delays for some commuters.

One such are is at and near 150 Airport Blvd., where sidewalk and shoulder closures will be in
effect next week along northbound Airport Boulevard between S. Airport Boulevard and Baden Avenue. The sidewalk and shoulder will remain closed for the project duration, and pedestrian detour signage is in place.

Pedestrians and bicycle users are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Material and concrete pours are scheduled which will impact a single northbound lane on Airport Boulevard between South Airport Boulevard and Baden Avenue. Work occurs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday, Aug. 5 through Friday, Aug. 9.

Commuters can expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Additionally, throughout the month of August, material deliveries will continue Mondays through Fridays along Cypress Avenue, as street restoration is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 5 through Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The first phase will result in the following road closures:

• Monday, August 5: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lux Avenue closed between Cypress Avenue and Airport Boulevard.
• Tuesday, August 6: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lux Avenue closed between Cypress Avenue and Airport Boulevard and Cypress Avenue between Grand Avenue and Lux Avenue.
• Wednesday, August 7: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cypress Avenue closed between Grand Avenue and Lux Avenue.
• Thursday, August 8: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cypress Avenue closed between Miller Avenue and Lux Avenue. Miller Avenue between Airport Boulevard and Cypress Avenue will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
• Friday, August 9: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cypress Avenue closed between Grand Avenue and Lux Avenue. Miller Avenue between Airport Boulevard and Cypress Avenue will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
• Monday, August 12: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Airport Boulevard closed between Lux Avenue and Grand Avenue.
