Carpenter Community Charter Plans Its First-Ever Golf Tourney

This will be an all-day affair with breakfast and a putting contest in the morning before a 10:30 a.m. tee time.

From a press release:

Carpenter Community Charter is hosting its first-ever Charity Golf Tournament. It happens on Nov. 17 at the beautiful Braemar Country Club in Tarzana.

This will be an all-day affair with breakfast and a putting contest in the morning before a 10:30 a.m. tee time. This will be a four-person team scramble format, so even average and mediocre players will have fun as well as a decent chance to win some prizes.

There will be on-course games like closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive contests. Some of our sponsors will be serving beer and wine along with a bbq lunch while you play.

Afterwards there will be a sit down dinner and a full auction with items ranging from dinner at a fine local restaurant to a week vacation in a brand new resort in Vietnam and golf on its Greg Norman designed course.

Speaking of which, Greg Norman Golf Course Design is our event’s title sponsor! We will even have some celebrities playing with us that day. Our golfers can bid to play in a foursome with Supermodel Angie Everhart, Actor Skeet Ulrich, Dodger legend Tim Leary, 49ers star Toi Cook, Pixies lead guitarist Joey Santiago or Blues Traveler lead guitarist Chan Kinchla.

All of the net proceeds will go towards helping our local public elementary school. Only through donations from parents and friends in the community are we able to fund our enrichment teachers (Music, Media Arts, Dance, PE, and Science) as well as our Classroom Aides and Down-sizing teachers (which allows the school to offer class sizes smaller than the district mandate).
