Obama is scheduled to attend an evening fundraiser at actor George Clooney's home in the Fryman Canyon neighborhood.

Obama is scheduled to land at Los Angeles International Airport at 6:25 p.m. He is expected to travel by helicopter and motorcade to Clooney's home, although his exact route was not being released.

Road closures and tight security in the hills could lead to traffic delays on Ventura Boulevard and Laurel Canyon Boulevard north of Ventura Boulevard, Krekorian said.

A planned protest by members of Campaign for a Fair Settlement outside the fundraiser could further snarl traffic. The group plans to call on Obama to be more aggressive in prosecuting banks for misconduct in the foreclosure crisis and "to help homeowners reset their mortgages to fair mortgage value."

Access to residential areas south of Ventura Boulevard in Studio City will be virtually sealed off from about 8 to 10 p.m., Krekorian said. "All local residents will need to show a current photo ID for home access," he said.

The Department of Transportation and the LAPD were working to minimize traffic impacts in the area, Krekorian said.

Obama is scheduled to spend the night in Beverly Hills and leave the city Friday morning.

Here is the letter by Krekorian

Dear Neighbor:
As you've likely heard by now, President Barack Obama is passing through the Valley tomorrow evening for a fundraiser in the hills of Studio City. As with any visit from the President, the area will be impacted by road closures and tight security, especially for those who live in the vicinity of Fryman Canyon.
That said, the Department of Transportation and the LAPD are working hard to minimize traffic impacts in the area.
For security reasons, the White House does not disclose exact details about the President's route, but here's what we do know: The President will be landing at LAX around 6 p.m. and will be transported, via helicopter and motorcade, to George Clooney's home, where the fundraiser will be held.
We do not expect that Ventura or Laurel Canyon boulevards, north of Ventura Boulevard, will be closed to traffic. However, there may be limited delays due to neighborhood street closures in the hills and emergency vehicles in the immediate vicinity.
For those driving on Laurel Canyon Boulevard and connecting streets north of Ventura Boulevard, please expect delays and/or road closures from about 5 to 8 p.m. If you live south of Ventura in Studio City, the LAPD has advised us that local access to the area will be virtually sealed off from about 8 to 10 p.m., meaning all local residents will need to show a current photo ID for home access
Police have advised residents in and near Fryman Canyon to stay home or make other arrangements during this time. Everyone else is advised to avoid the area as much as possible.
The President will leave Los Angeles the next morning, after staying the night in Beverly Hills. The police department has assured us that traffic impacts in the Valley will be minimal on Friday.
As always, if you have questions or concerns on this or any other issue, please call my office at (818) 755-7676.
