Thousands Without Power Following Explosion and Fire at DWP Plant: BREAKING
LADWP officials are reporting a massive power outage affecting nearly 9,000 homes in Studio City and Sherman Oaks.

STUDIO CITY, CA- A large area of Studio City is without power due to a transformer explosion and fire at a DWP plant, according to LAPD officials.
At approximately 9:45 p.m. Wednesday night, fire and utility crews responded to an explosion and structure fire at an electrical distributing station on Coldwater Canyon Avenue, according to Tweets from LADWP.
As of 11 p.m., Los Angeles firefighters were still working to extinguish the flames in order for power workers to safely begin the restoration process.
DWP reports that there is no estimated time of repair yet because the ultility doen't know what went wrong.
"When the alarm went off It triggered an automatic power cutoff to those areas," DWP's spokeswoman Vonda Paige said.
