Driver On 'Test Drive' Tries To Hide Gun In Traffic Stop: Police
The 25-year-old driver told officers he met the passenger on OfferUp and was test-driving the car, Fairfield police said.

FAIRFIELD, CA — A Fairfield man was arrested after allegedly being in possession of a firearm during a traffic stop early Thursday morning, according to police. The suspect, 25-year-old James Campbell, was pulled over in the 2100 block of North Texas Street after allegedly speeding and having at least one brake light out, Sgt. Nicholas McDowell said.
McDowell said Campbell and the passenger in the car — who wasn't identified — told officers they met through the "OfferUp" app to test drive a vehicle, but had not known each other prior to that.
The officer who pulled over Campbell noticed that he and other passengers in the vehicle were trying to hide something near the passenger seat, McDowell said. When another officer came to scene to back her up, he noticed a handgun. According to McDowell, Campbell admitted the handgun was his.
