Meet A Future Leader In Suisun City: Derrick Agbemenu
Patch and T-Mobile have partnered to highlight young people achieving great things in our community.

The future of Suisun City is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Derrick Agbemenu, who are making a positive impact in and around Suisun City.
Originally from Ghana, Derrick Agbemenu experienced firsthand the challenges of inadequate medical care, which initially left him skeptical of the field. However, witnessing the impact of U.S.-trained physicians providing advanced treatments in his community transformed his perspective and fueled his passion for medicine. After attending Solano Community College, Derrick transferred to UC Davis, where he earned a degree in molecular and cellular biology, laying the foundation for his medical aspirations.
Now a recipient of Sutter Health’s prestigious full-tuition scholarship, Derrick is among the first five students selected to attend Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. His long-term vision extends beyond his immediate studies—he hopes to return to Ghana in the future to establish a clinic that will provide much-needed medical care to underserved populations.
