Suspect Identified In Fatal Shooting Near Grange Middle School
The Fairfield Police Department's SWAT team just missed capturing a suspect Wednesday night wanted for the murder of man near Grange School.

FAIRFIELD - The Fairfield Police Department's SWAT team just missed capturing a suspect Wednesday night wanted for the murder of man near Grange Middle School in early April.
According to police, a search warrant was served Wednesday night in the 100 block of Stephen St. as officers looked for 28-yr-old Fairfield resident Kyle Matthew Amos, named as a suspect in the homicide case.
On April 6, 28-year-old Fairfield resident La Angelo Darnell Stroughter was shot and killed near Grange Middle School. The school at 1975 Blossom Ave. was temporarily placed on lockdown. Police have linked Amos to the shooting.

Police say due to the violent nature of the original crime, the Fairfield Police SWAT team was used to serve the warrant Wednesday night.
During execution of the warrant, Fairfield police warned neighborhood residents to stay in their homes, as tear gas was being used.

Amos was not located. Police say they learned that Amos was at the residence, but fled just prior to our teams being fully in place.
Kyle Matthew Amos is described as a white male adult, 6 foot, 2 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds. He has blond short shaved hair and blue eyes.
Police say Amos should be considered armed and dangerous.
