TEMECULA, CA — Here are five things to know in Temecula this week. We hope it's a good one for all!
1. There are several important things happening in Temecula this week, but let's go straight to dancing first. The 3rd annual event will include an outdoor stage and sound system, full bars, line dancing lessons, mechanical bull-riding and more set up in The Temecula Stampede parking lot, 28721 Old Town Front St. VIP and general admission tickets are available for the 2023 Old Town Music Festival. 2. Temecula City Council meets on Tuesday, June 13, and one of the agenda items is City Manager Aaron Adams' employment contract. Twenty-eight years ago and fresh out of college, Adams was hired as an intern at Temecula City Hall. Except for a quick stint as a management analyst for the city of San Clemente in 1995, Adams has continuously worked at Temecula City Hall. He has held positions such as management analyst, senior management analyst, assistant city manager, executive community services director, and acting and interim city manager. In 2013, he was hired as permanent city manager. Adams has received salary increases along the way, and on Tuesday City Council will decide whether to give him an 8.7% raise that would put his annual base pay at $334,237.72. The percentage is in line with a cost of living increase that City Council is considering for all city employees. If approved, all the raises will take effect July 1, 2023, as negotiated with Teamsters 911. Tuesday's 6 p.m. City Council meeting takes place at City Hall, 41000 Main Street. 5. Lastly, but certainly not least, is Father's Day, which is Sunday, June 18. Patch editor Ashley Ludwig put together a "Fun Father's Day Ideas," which is a list of local places to take dad. See her story here, however, it comes with a warning: We're not sure how many fathers would think Ashley's list is really fun: Her first pick is rollerskating. Enjoy and Happy Father's Day.
