Business Is Blooming At Temecula Rose Garden
It's time to smell the roses in Temecula, at the city's Rose Haven Heritage Garden.

TEMECULA, CA — The Temecula Rose Haven Heritage Garden, home to over 2,000 rose bushes and numerous other flowering plants, is bursting with color in late April.
The Rose Garden, located in Temecula at the corner of Cabrillo Avenue and Jedediah Smith Road, is open every day of the year from dawn to dusk. The spot is a favorite for photographers, flower lovers, and yes, even prom and wedding pictures.

Rebecca Weersing, president of the Temecula Valley Rose Society, took a moment to discuss the garden and all that's blooming there.
“This is the time of year when Rose Haven is in peak bloom, and with the recent rains this year, the bloom should be especially robust,” Weersing said. “Roses in bloom,” she added, “include hybrid teas, floribundas, climbers and mini‑roses, and the new pollinator garden features a variety of colorful native plants that attract beneficial pollinators.

"We invite all Temecula Valley residents and visitors to come out and enjoy the garden with family and friends. It’s a perfect spot for photography, weddings, painting, exploring nature with children, and calm relaxation.”

The Rose Haven Heritage Garden, first planted in 1991, is home to over 2,000 roses, according to Weersing. In addition, the garden features succulents and xeriscape plant sections, a Tree of Life produce garden, a Peace and Friendship garden, formal French and English gardens, a reflection pond, a gazebo, and a pavilion available for rental for weddings and other special events.

It’s a variety of environments connected by one purpose: An escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, she says.
The Rose Haven Heritage Garden is a member of the American Public Gardens organization and a certified wildlife sanctuary recognized by the National Wildlife Federation in 2011, according to the website.
Visitors are always welcome, and ample parking is available on site.
The Garden relies on donations and grants to maintain and enhance this private space for public enjoyment, according to volunteers from the Temecula Valley Rose Society. They are affiliated with the American Rose Society. As a nonprofit, public benefit corporation, our purpose is to encourage the appreciation, study, display and cultivation of roses. The Rose Society strives to foster community connections through nature, hosting educational seminars and demonstrations throughout the year for children, families, and gardening enthusiasts.
