Temecula Shooting Suspect Arrested, 2 Victims Hospitalized: Cops

A shooting occurred early Sunday, critically injuring two people. Southwest Sheriff's Station later located the suspect.

TEMECULA, CA — A 25-year-old Temecula man was under arrest Monday, suspected of shooting two people over the weekend, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department shared.

Terrance Sherman was arrested Sunday in connection with a double shooting that occurred around 1:45 a.m. in the 27000 block of Jefferson Avenue in Temecula, according to a Riverside County Sheriff's Department statement.

Sherman was being held at the Southwest Detention Center on two counts of attempted murder and felony possession of a firearm. He was held on $1 million bail and will answer to two felony charges of Attempted Murder on Wednesday morning, according to jail records.

Early Sunday, Southwest Station deputies called to the scene of a shooting near a sports bar, according to witnesses.

Two men were found with gunshot wounds, and both were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, according to Lt. Deirdre Vickers. They were both considered stable as of Monday morning.

During the investigation, deputies obtained a description of the suspect vehicle. Deputies searched for the suspect vehicle and located it, and Sherman, in the area of Sanborn Avenue and Jefferson Avenue, Vickers told Patch in an email. "Deputies conducted a vehicle stop, and the driver was taken into custody."
