DUI Checkpoint Planned This Weekend In Southwest Riverside County

SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The California Highway Patrol announced it's conducting a DUI checkpoint Saturday in an unincorporated part of Southwest Riverside County.

The exact location and hours of operation were not disclosed, but the agency said motorists will see informational signs advising them that a sobriety checkpoint is ahead.

Traffic volume permitting, all vehicles will be checked, according to the agency.

Motorists will be detained for only a few moments while an officer explains the purpose of the checkpoint and checks driver's licenses, the CHP said.

"The CHP would like to remind all motorists to not drink and drive," the agency continued. "DUIs are 100% preventable. It’s simple; if you’re going to drink, don’t drive. Designate a sober driver and get to your destination safely."
