Fatal Hit-And-Run Under Investigation In Southwest RivCo
An area resident discovered the victim's body laying near a fence, deputies said.
SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A fatal hit-and-run, reported by an individual who was out walking and found the victim's body early Friday in Wildomar, is under investigation, according to authorities.
Riverside County Sheriff's deputies were called shortly after midnight, at 12:04 a.m., to the scene where a person apparently was struck and killed by a vehicle near the intersection of Mission Trail and Sylvester Road, the agency said.
A local resident, who was walking in the area, discovered the victim laying against a fence near the intersection, officials said, adding that medical personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

The victim's name was not released, pending notification of next of kin, and the investigation is being handled by the Lake Elsinore Station Traffic Team, officials said.
