Felon Accused of Possessing Loaded Gun, Meth Arrested In Temecula

A probationer with multiple felony warrants was allegedly found to be in possession of a loaded shotgun in Temecula.

TEMECULA, CA — A probationer with multiple felony warrants was allegedly found to be in possession of a loaded shotgun in Temecula and remained jailed Sunday in lieu of $150,000.

Brian Torres, 25, of Lake Elsinore was pulled over at 8:36 p.m. Friday near La Paz Road and Temecula Parkway and allegedly gave deputies a fictional name, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

After deputies determined his true identity, they discovered that Torres had three felony warrants for his arrest and was on probation for a robbery conviction.

When deputies searched Torres' vehicle, they allegedly found a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, shotgun ammunition and methamphetamine.

Torres was arrested and booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of 12 felony counts and five misdemeanors, including being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of illegal drugs and violation of probation.
