ANZA, CA — Cal Fire/Riverside County Firefighters hiked a remote Riverside County trail Sunday to rescue a hiker in distress, the agency reported.

Just after noon, firefighters answered the 911 call of a hiker suffering a medical emergency north of Anza and south of Pinyon Pines, spokesperson Maggie Cline De La Rosa said.

They traversed the Cactus Springs Trail on foot to reach the hiker and start medical treatment, then helped them down the trail to a waiting ambulance. No air rescue was necessary, she said.
