Krispy Kreme Announces Aug. 8 Grand Opening In Temecula
The new Temecula shop, which the company said created 65 jobs, will be open 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

TEMECULA, CA — It's been months since word came out that Krispy Kreme was returning to Temecula. Now the company has announced an opening date of Aug. 8.
The North Carolina-headquartered doughnut company and coffeehouse chain will open shop at the now-closed Yellow Basket location, 40575 Winchester Road, across the street from the Promenade Temecula mall.
The city announced on social media in January that Krispy Kreme formally submitted applications to occupy the spot.

The upcoming store is not the first Krispy Kreme for Temecula. The doughnut maker briefly operated a location at 40531 Margarita Road, where Chick-fil-A is now doing business.
"Krispy Kreme’s initial shop in Temecula closed in the early 2000s as part of broader restructuring, and the brand is thrilled to return to the community," a company spokesperson confirmed this week in an email.

The new Temecula Krispy Kreme will be just the third Riverside County location. The cities of Menifee and Rancho Mirage each have a store.
As part of grand opening week in Temecula, Krispy Kreme will randomly award 10 dozen guests a "Celebration Ticket" worth a dozen free Original Glazed doughnuts every month for a year, according to the company.
“We are so excited to be part of the Temecula community and the Inland Empire. ... it will be a joy to serve residents and visitors alike in this beautiful community,” said Roger Glickman, chief executive officer of Awesome Doughnut, the exclusive franchisee of Krispy Kreme in Southern California.

Krispy Kreme's history stretches back to the 1930s and the business has survived the Great Depression, mergers, sales, private and public ownerships, an accounting scandal, a cease-and-desist by the SEC, health-conscious consumers and a COVID-19 shutdown. Today, the company operates globally and has launched a slew of new products.
