The 90-minute July 20 get-together will feature video presentations of two TED Talks handpicked by the mayor.

TEMECULA, CA — Have you ever watched or tuned in for a TED Talk? If not, you're missing out — but you have a chance to get acquainted right here in Temecula.
At 6:30 p.m., July 20, Temecula Mayor Zak Schwank will host a TEDxTemecula Salon at Parlay Café, 31754 Temecula Parkway, Suite A. The 90-minute get-together will feature video presentations of two TED Talks handpicked by Schwank.
The featured talks were recorded live on stage during a TED event somewhere in the world; the topics will be revealed at the Salon. After each screening, there will be a brief, politics-free, discussion of each TED Talk.

TED Talks strive "to discover and spread ideas that spark imagination, embrace possibility and catalyze impact," according to the TED Foundation, a tax-exempt not-for-profit corporation.
The organization "is devoted to curiosity, reason, wonder and the pursuit of knowledge — without an agenda. We welcome people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world and connection with others, and we invite everyone to engage with ideas and activate them in your community," according to the TED website.
