Cable Car Wine Tours is widely known in Temecula Valley for operating wine tours on their historic San Francisco Cable Cars fleet. Visitors get to take a step back in time as they gaze out the open-air windows of an authentic cable car while exploring lush wine country and learning about the age-old tradition of winemaking.

Now, Cable Car Wine Tours is adding an exciting new twist to their experience! Beginning April 23rd, Black Market Brewing, a favorite local establishment for beer and pizza, will offer the area’s first urban winery experience with a pop-up mobile Cable Car that they are calling Off the Rails Winery.

“The pop-up will complement Black Market Brewing with top-tier food offerings and an impressive selection of wine for every palette - appealing to the novice wine drinker, to the connoisseur, and everyone in between,” said Jared Broach, owner of Cable Car Wine Tours. "We have tapped one of the finest wine makers in the country to create our own wine label and are proud to present our extremely affordable food and wine pairings.”

From their 1914 San Francisco Cable Car, strikingly restored and converted into a mobile wine bar, Off the Rails will offer their own rosé and white wines by the bottle, reds on tap, some exceptional guest taps, and their own line of on tap sangria.

The new wines from Off the Rails are named Clay Street Hill, in a nod to the first cable car line built in San Francisco that stayed as an independent rail line until 1888, when it was incorporated into the Clay-Sacramento line. When the old double tracks of the original line were finally put to rest and replaced with a single set in 1891, a bottle of champagne was broken in honor of its status as the first cable railroad in San Francisco.

At this pop-up pairing, patrons will enjoy relaxing and sipping in the green wine garden adjacent to the cable car while indulging in perfectly-paired bites such as the Cable Car-cutterie and an array of Italian-style sandwiches. Got a beer or pizza lover in your group? They will be enthusiastic to try Black Market’s delightful array of pizzas, appetizers, and salads while sipping on a savory beer.

“This partnership has been a long time in the making after being severely slowed by pandemic,” said Kevin Dyer, owner of Black Market Brewing Co. "Black Market was initially conceived to be a hall to welcome various food and beverage concepts. We are looking forward to offering the best pizza and best beer in Temecula alongside what will no doubt be an incredible wine experience.”

Off the Rails pop-up will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Black Market Brewing Co. will now be open for lunch through dinner 7 days a week with amazing daily specials. For more information, please visit www.offtherailswinery.com.
