TEMECULA, CA —A record high minimum temperature has been reported Wednesday in Riverside after a nearly two-week-long heat wave and tropical storm, according to the National Weather Service.

But cooler days are in the forecast.

It was 70 in Riverside on Tuesday night, tying the record for the highest minimum temperature set in 2015.

A record low of 89 was reported in Thermal on Monday night breaking the previous record of 92 set in 1976.

Thermal broke a record for rainfall reporting 0.01 inches on Monday, breaking the record of a trace set in 2012.

The coolest day overall this week is expected to be Wednesday when Temecula will be as low as 79 degrees and downtown Riverside 84.

Palm Springs and Coachella Valley will be the warmest with highs of 94 and 95 on Wednesday, respectively.
