2 Wounded In Rush Hour Shooting On Busy Southwest RivCo. Thoroughfare
The search for the shooter shut down traffic on Redhawk Parkway Monday afternoon, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department confirmed.

TEMECULA, CA — Two people were wounded in a car-to-car shooting occurred in Temecula Monday afternoon, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
At least two were hospitalized with apparent gunshot wounds, Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez told Patch.
Shortly after 5:15 p.m., 911 callers reported an assault with a deadly weapon in the area of Temecula Parkway and Redhawk Parkway/Margarita Road.

The caller reported seeing a man get out of one vehicle and shoot a weapon into a second vehicle, and both vehicles then drove away, according to Brito-Gonzalez.
As deputies arrived on the scene, they learned that two people had been taken to a local hospital with gunshot wounds, according to Brito-Gonzalez.

"This appears to be an isolated incident," she said.
The names and ages of those involved have not been released, and no update has been given on their conditions.
The investigation is ongoing, and a portion of Redhawk Parkway north from Via Rio Temecula to Temecula Parkway remained blocked as of 7:30 p.m. Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes.
Residents took to social media to share what they witnessed Monday evening.
One commenter stated she saw a man exit a white van in a turn lane and heard gunfire as she drove away. Another resident "swore they had heard fireworks," or that someone had thrown fireworks into a car.
There was no immediate report of an arrest or suspect description.
