RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — It's that time of year in Riverside County — and we're not talking about the holiday season.

Instead, property owners are reminded that the first installment of property taxes becomes delinquent if not paid by Dec. 10, 2025, and the second installment becomes delinquent if not paid by April 10, 2026.

Late payments will incur a 10% penalty. In addition, an administrative cost will be added on late second installment payments, according to the county.

The pocketbook pain is real, but the county said it is making it "as easy and convenient as possible" for taxpayers to meet their property tax obligations.

"With multiple payment options, we encourage residents to use online, phone, or kiosk services to avoid long lines," said Riverside County Treasurer-Tax Collector Matthew Jennings.

Property taxes can be paid online, by phone, by mail, and in person via a self-service kiosk at the County Administrative Center (4080 Lemon St., 1st Floor, Riverside). Card, cash and check are accepted at the Riverside office.

Other in-person locations include county offices in Palm Desert at 38-686 El Cerrito Rd. and in Temecula at 40810 County Center Dr., Suite 110. Neither the Palm Desert office nor the Temecula office accepts cash, according to the county.

The county offices will hold extended collection hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 1–10, 2025, and again April 1–10, 2026.

Annual tax bills were mailed in October.

"Not receiving a bill does not exempt property owners from payment or penalties," according to the county.
