Temecula-Area Traveling Nurse Found Shot To Death In Michigan

The body of the 27-year-old woman was found over the weekend in a Saginaw, Michigan home.

AGUANGA, CA — The body of a 27-year-old traveling Aguanga nurse's assistant was found inside a Saginaw, Michigan home over the weekend. Her death is being investigated as a homicide, while at home in Riverside County, family and friends are grieving her sudden and unexplained loss.

On Saturday, at approximately 4:15 a.m., the body of Eliza Vega was found inside a home in the 1400 block of Cypress Street, Saginaw officials say. No suspects have been arrested on suspicion of committing the crime.

According to a GoFundMe campaign started by a family friend, she has worked in healthcare for over seven years and has lived in Michigan since December 2022.

"Eliza Vega was a person who loved art, books, and music," a family friend wrote on GoFundMe, which has raised $4,615 since its beginning.

They described her as fun, strong, and caring, and would "give others unconditional love and compassion without any expectations," Yenisel Manuel said on the fundraising site. "This was unexpected and something we NEVER saw coming, especially so suddenly. This has left us grieving and at a loss."

Saginaw Police have yet to release any further statements about Vega's death, but are investigating her homicide. Police are urging anyone with information on Vega’s death to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-5245. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
