Temecula Customers Lose Phone and Internet After Cables Damaged

TEMECULA, CA -- An unspecified number of Frontier Communications business and residential customers lost their phone and internet service Friday morning when a contractor dug into fiber optic cables.

The damage was reported before 8 a.m. at the Promenade Mall, near the intersection Winchester and Ynez roads, Frontier Communications spokesman Javier Mendoza said.

Technicians began making repairs early Friday afternoon and were expected to restore service by nightfall, Mendoza said.

He said the contractor whose crews caused the damage was not affiliated with Frontier.
