TEMECULA, CA — The city of Temecula just received a prestigious award from the state for its efforts to support entrepreneurship.

The city was honored with the Award of Merit during the California Association for Local Economic Development 2025 Awards of Excellence this week for Temecula Valley Entrepreneur’s Exchange, and the city's Entrepreneurial Resource Center was honored with the Award.

The Economic Resource Center launched in January of last year and serves as a hub for entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses not just in Temecula but in the surrounding communities.

The city says the center has played a big role in supporting thousands of local businesses and entrepreneurs through free business mentorship, training programs, networking events and technical assistance.

But the city says the effort wouldn't have been possible without the support of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino, the Orange County Inland Empire Small Business Development Center and the County of Riverside.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to our partners for their invaluable support”, said Mary Cervantes, a manager at the city's Entrepreneur Exchange. “This recognition is a shared achievement that reflects our region’s collective commitment to entrepreneurship and innovation."
