According to Lassig, she came to a complete stop at the intersection of Benton Road, had right-of-way, and proceeded through the intersection after stopping at the stop sign.
"As she advanced through the stop sign, the Tesla Cybertruck driver failed to stop and collided with the Honda Odyssey.
"The force of the collision caused the Cybertruck to roll over in a south-easterly direction into an open field, after crashing through a barbed wire fence," Lassig said. The Cybertruck ended up on its roof, while the Odyssey spun to a stop, to face north at the intersection of Benton Road and Washington Street.
"A 15-year-old male passenger in the Cybertruck complained of pain as a result of this crash," Lassig said.
All parties involved in this traffic collision wore their seatbelts, and no serious injuries were reported.
There were no citations or arrests, as everyone involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The California Highway Patrol, Temecula Area, is investigating this traffic collision.
Many residents took to Reddit on social media, sharing pictures and stories of the dramatic Cybertruck crash. While some made jokes about Tesla and Cybertrucks, one commenter who lived nearby and was at the scene pleaded for some decency.
"We're lucky no one got hurt," the Reddit commenter said. "I implore you, appreciate your lives and the lives of others, especially those close to you. Don't let political beliefs dehumanize other people, because at the end of the day, we're all people."
