Wanted: Temecula Residents Looking To Help Conserve Area

TEMECULA, CA — Temecula's representative on the Riverside County Board of Supervisors issued a call this week for applicants to serve on the Temecula-Elsinore-Anza-Murrieta Resource Conservation District. 'Team RCD' is a group of concerned area residents who work together to help conserve the region's "natural resources, create public awareness about conservation and promote a sustainable quality of life for communities within the district,"according to the office of Supervisor Chuck Washington.

"Directors collaborate to allow projects to run smoothly through the permitting process while allowing for a sustainable and healthy environment," a description of the position reads. "Directors also partake in public outreach and build relationships with other agencies in order to protect and preserve the district’s watersheds."

The district is 505,000 acres, extending south from Scott Road to the San Diego County line and from east of Anza to the Orange County line, as well as a portion near Lake Elsinore, according to the county.

In order to apply, you must be a registered voter, live in the district or have served for 2 years or more as an associate director providing assistance to the Board of Directors.

Those appointed will attend meetings on the second Thursday of the most months at 4 p.m. at the Truax Building in Old Town Temecula, 41923 Second St., Fourth Floor.
