Battery fire prompts evacuation at Turlock High School (turlockjournal.com) — Students and staff at Turlock High School were evacuated Monday afternoon after heavy smoke from a small battery fire filled the girls’ locker room near the west gym. Turlock firefighters quickly contained the blaze in a utility room, no injuries were reported, and crews stayed on scene to ventilate the building while mutual aid units covered the rest of the city.
