• Forward Trevor Connelly Assigned to Team USA for World Junior Championship (oursportscentral.com) — A Tustin native is heading back to the World Junior Championship, as Henderson Silver Knights forward Trevor Connelly has been assigned to Team USA for this year’s tournament in Minnesota. The 19-year-old first-round NHL draft pick already owns a gold medal from last year’s event and multiple medals from other international tournaments, and will appear on NHL Network later this month.
   

• Over $20K worth of drugs seized at a north Orange County traffic stop (newsantaana.com) — Residents in Tustin’s unincorporated county islands are served by the same North Patrol deputies who recently seized over $20,000 in meth and crack during a north Orange County traffic stop. The suspect was jailed on felony drug charges, and the sheriff’s department outlined potential multi-year prison sentences and steep fines tied to such offenses.
