UNION CITY, CA — If you have special dietary needs like gluten or dairy sensitivities, you may want to give Fremont’s Forest & Flour a try. The East Bay Times named it one of the Bay Area’s 10 best new bakeries.
"Many Bay Area residents with dietary issues have found sweet salvation at Sway Soturi’s farmers market booths over the past few years," the EBT said. "Now the San Jose wellness entrepreneur can offer a larger menu of organic and gluten-free, dairy-free, peanut-free, soy-free and corn-free savories and sweets to a broader audience at her new cafe in Fremont’s Mission San Jose district."
The bakery serves everything from Lavender-Lemon Bread to Monkey Party muffins, along with soup and other hearty fare.

The East Bay appeared prominently on the list of best new bakeries, scoring seven of the 10 slots. The others are in Hayward, Emeryville, Danville, Walnut Creek, and two in Oakland.
