1. BREAKS AND BOOST

Where/When: FFTEC Motorsports, 31911 Hayman St., Hayward; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: FFTEC Motorsports is bringing together the car club and breakdancing communities for this all-day event. The event will feature a car meet and b-boy battle. All proceeds will help fund funeral services of Gerald Casterolow, a local breakdancing icon who recently passed away.

2. DINOSAURS AT THE UNION CITY LIBRARY

Where/When: Union City Library, 34007 Alvarado-Niles Rd., Union City; Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Children can learn about the giant creatures who ruled the land before us. Children will make dinosaur footprints and a dinosaur headband, among other fun and educational activities. No registration is required.

3. PURPLE MONKEY YOGA'S REVEL

Where/When: Purple Monkey Yoga Studio, 3961 Horner St., Union City; Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to midnight

Why Go: The inaugural event for this new monthly party was molded with Oakland's Art Murmur in mind. Purple Monkey Yoga Studio's "Revel" will bring together local artists, fashion designers, foodies and more for a nightlong party. This month's event will feature the works of Union City-based collective Haus of Godspeed, Laura Ho and Kimberly Ky, along with goods from clothing companies IMPRM, Below the Surface and others. 4. NILES SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES

Where/When: Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum, 37417 Niles Blvd., Fremont; Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: This weekend's feature is "Behind the Front" starring silent era comic team Wallace Beery and Raymond Hatton. Bruce Loeb will helm the piano. Learn more about this month's features in Thomas Gladysz's latest blog.

5. SUNDAY AFTERNOON CONCERT

Where/When: Bridgepoint High School, 35733 Cedar Blvd, Newark; Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Have a "hoot" of an afternoon with Sourdough Slim as he croons Western classics while playing the accordion, guitar and harmonica. Sourdough Slim, who has performed at Carnegie Hall, will also dance jigs and yodel.

Pricing: suggested donation of $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students 12-18, and $3 for children
