Police received numerous calls from witnesses about the toddler, who was wandering alone in the cold, wet weather. Fortunately, upon arrival, police found the toddler seated in the car of a witness who stopped to care for the child. Officers learned that the child was missing from home for about 15 to 25 minutes. They found the mother of the child about a quarter-mile away and discovered that she had a warrant for her arrest for being a parolee-at-large. She was arrested for the warrant and for child endangerment. The child and her three siblings, who were at home at the time, were taken into protective custody and turned over to Child Protective Services.

Fight at a funeral. Two men engaged in a bloody fight outside of the Chapel of the Chimes Cemetery and Funeral Home. Officers responded to the location to find two male subjects lying in the grass in front of the mortuary, one bleeding from his hand, the other with blood all over his face. After an investigation, officers determined that one subject, the suspect/aggressor, approached a family at the mortuary, who were mourning the loss of a family member, and accused them of stalking him. The family tried to ignore him but he then tried to attack the family’s teenage daughter. The father, the victim in this case, intervened to protect his daughter. The suspect started fighting with the father and hit him with a plastic bag filled with three full cans of soda. The victim managed to take the suspect to the ground in an attempt to hold him there but the suspect bit the tip of one of the victim’s fingers off as the officers arrived. The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and mayhem.
D’oh!-nuts. As officers were leaving the cemetery, a person decided to show off in his car across the street in the Mexico Super Market parking lot. People ran away from the suspect’s car in fear they’d be struck as he spun doughnuts. When he saw officers approaching, he quickly parked his vehicle and ran into the store. The driver was eventually located, cited, and had his vehicle towed.

An at-risk 14-year-old was reported missing. The teenager had Asperger's Syndrome, which is a form of autism. The boy left his home the previous night after an argument with his mother and did not return. After the argument, the boy’s father learned that his son had researched suicide links online. Police conducted a thorough area check, as well as enlisted assistance from allied agencies. East Bay Regional Parks District police and Fremont police helped in the search with the California Highway Patrol assisting with a helicopter. Authorities also searched adjacent cities and areas but were met with negative results. As they continued their search, the missing boy returned home. He was sent for evaluation at a local hospital.
