Police Log: UPS Driver Robbed at Gunpoint; Liquor Store Clerk Held Up

Friday, Nov. 11

Bicyclist hospitalized in hit-and-run

Officers responded to the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Decoto Road at about 4:45 a.m. to investigate a reported hit-and-run involving a bicyclist. When officers arrived, they located the victim in the roadway, along with debris indicating the collision occurred in the northbound lane of Mission Boulevard near the center of the intersection.

Paramedics administered first aid to the bicyclist and transported the victim to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

UPS driver robbed at gunpoint

A UPS delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint while on the 2900 block of Kohoutek Way. Officers responded to the location and learned that the driver was approached by two suspects who robbed him of his personal property, along with several packages that were slated for delivery, according to the report. The suspects fled on foot after the robbery.

Thursday, Nov. 17

Armed robbery at Decoto liquor store

Officers responded to a silent hold up alarm at a convenience market on Decoto Road. Upon calling into the store, it was determined that an armed robbery had just occurred. According to the report, two black male adult suspects entered the liquor store, with one brandishing a rifle and the other simulating a handgun.  The suspects took money from the cash register as well as other items from inside the store, including personal property from the clerk. 

Car stolen from Fremont found in Union City neighborhood

A person reported seeing someone throw a child’s car seat from a beige Saturn in the in the area of Engine House and Courthouse drives. The person told officers that a child was still in the seat, but responding officers found the seat was empty, the report said. Police later found the beige Saturn unoccupied in the same area and determined it to be a stolen vehicle out of Fremont. The car was recovered and towed.
