Shooting In Movie Theater Injures 1 In Union City

Police are searching for an unidentified suspect after an argument inside a late-night movie showing ended in gunfire.

UNION CITY, CA — Police in Union City are searching for a suspect after an argument ended with a shooting early Wednesday inside the Century Theaters at Union Landing.

According to police, 911 callers reported a shooting inside one of the movie theaters around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday. Officers rushed to the scene and evacuated the complex while they cleared the building. Officers discovered a man with a gunshot wound inside one of the theaters. Medics took the victim to the hospital for treatment and he was expected to survive.

Police said a preliminary investigation revealed a dispute involving multiple people before one person fired a handgun. The suspect fled the area before officers arrived, and no one else was believed to be injured.
