Union City Applications Close Soon For Business Loans
Local businesses are eligible for up to $25,000, and the loans may be forgiven. The deadline: March 23.

UNION CITY, CA — Union City plans to issue a third round of Road to Recovery Small Business Assistance Program funding to small businesses directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The money will be issued in the form of a forgivable loan.
The City’s program guidelines have been updated to cover rent, mortgage, utilities (up to three months of assistance in arrears), payroll support, and purchase of PPE or other structures or equipment to aid with the mitigation of COVID-19 in an amount up to $25,000.
Funds will be paid directly to the landlord, bank, utility company, or business.

Businesses Eligible for a Road to Recovery Loan:
- For-profit, independently owned business in good standing with the City of Union City as of March 31, 2020 (current on City of Union City obligations, bills, liens, etc.).
- Possess an active City of Union City business license.
- Have at least 9 months of business operations in the City of Union City.
- Employ no more than 500 employees, including the owner(s).

- At least one employee meets eligible income requirements – current household income at or below 80% of County Median Income ( See chart here, along with more information about the program)
Funding is being provided through the HUD Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) CARES Act and through the City's general use CDBG funding.
Applications are currently being accepted with a deadline of March 23, 2022.
