Union City Looks To Teens To Fill Spooktacular Volunteer Spots
Union City's annual Halloween Community Carnival gives teens the chance to earn community service hours in the creepiest of ways.
UNION CITY, CA — Teens looking to fill some community service hours before graduation should look no further than Union City's annual Halloween Community Carnival for a fun and spooky way to earn those hours needed for graduation.
Open to teens ages 13-18, the call for volunteers for the Oct. 22 event to be held at the Holly Community Center, 31600 Alvarado Boulevard, includes positions such as operating carnival games or crafts and handing out candy or prizes, all while dressed up in a costume that is appropriate for children.
Interested teens should register through REC1 so the city's Community & Recreation Services Department has their information and can sign off on community service hours at the end of the event which is scheduled to run from noon until 5 p.m.
