Video: TRU Dance Flash Mob at Union City Eats

Members of the new dance studio surprised guests Thursday night.

It happened so fast. At 6:40 p.m., a crowd of about 200 was gathered at Union Landing for what is now a Thursday night ritual, the "Union City Eats" food truck festival.

Folks were grubbing on their burritos and sliders, hungry visitors were waiting in line and kids were running around when, suddlenly, the DJ spins Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough."

A man shouts, "That's my jam!" and began to dance. Some spectators initially laughed as he purposely fumbled a Jackson impersonation, but little did they know what was in store.

Two young kids quickly pushed him out of the way and started doing their own routine. Then others joined. Soon, there were about 30 dancers of all ages in sync with each other.

The choreographed flash mob was organized by TRU Dance, a new dance studio located at 2821 Whipple Rd. The studio specializes in a variety of styles, from hip-hop and jazz to ballet and tap, with classes for all ages.
