Fire Damages Mar Vista Home

Flames ripped through a two-story home in Mar Vista early Tuesday, authorities said.

MAR VISTA, CA — It took 39 firefighters about 25 minutes to knock down a fire at a two-story home early Tuesday in Mar Vista, authorities said.

The fire broke out about 8:16 a.m. Tuesday in the 3700 block of South Mountain View Avenue, Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

One person, whose age and condition was unknown, was evaluated for possible injuries, Stewart said.

Firefighters held the flames at the second floor, with the attic sustaining some damage in the attack, Stewart said. No other structures were damaged.

It's unclear what caused the fire. No further details were immediately available.
