My main interest at this time is to recondition and re-purpose the Historic Firehouse 62 at 3631 Centinela and open it as a community center. This structure is actually in my back yard, so I have taken this on as a cause. I remove graffiti as soon as it occurs, and have been maintaining the grounds. I have been very active co-chairing the MVCC Ad hoc committee for the firehouse 62, furthering this cause by helping in the forming of the 501 (c) 3 and dealing with city planning. I have been to many PLUM and transportation and infrastructure committee meetings and have shared views on Expo line, and many other projects. My main concern is that projects fit neighborhoods and neighbors are heard.

Who are your primary supporters?
Sharon Commins is pleased to have me run as an advocate for the firehouse. She has worked alongside me for quite awhile trying to move this project forward. Others on the board have voiced their support. Many of my neighbors near the firehouse have thanked me for my efforts and have offered support. I frequent board meetings and am a known voice that shares my views on many issues in front of the board. Sherri Akers a co-chair of the Green committee has thanked me for running. I am thrilled with what Mar Vista has done with its green committee. The garden tour is amazing and continues to grow.
What issue do you feel most strongly about and what’s your position?
Traffic and the impact of proposed projects. I want make sure projects fit and that the people they impact are aware and are heard.
What's one thing most constituents don't know about you?
That I am a Consulting Rosarian, a certificate from the American Rose Society. I grow many roses and know a lot about their habits.
Why did you decide to run?
In a word, the firehouse.
