County Supervisor Ken Carlson hosted a naturalization ceremony held Monday in Martinez.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Thirty-one people from 17 different nations took a significant step Monday toward embracing their new identities as citizens of the United States during a naturalization ceremony hosted by Contra Costa County District IV Supervisor Ken Carlson, in conjunction with United States Citizenship & Immigration Services.

In an event held at the County Administration Building in Martinez, the community came together to celebrate the culmination of a journey marked by determination, perseverance and the pursuit of the American dream. Family and friends gathered to witness their loved ones take the Oath of Allegiance, pledging their loyalty and allegiance to their adopted homeland.

"The ceremony serves as a powerful reminder of the rich tapestry of cultures that enrich the fabric of our society and the enduring promise of America — a land of opportunity where individuals from all walks of life can come together to build a brighter future," Carlson said.
