Arts Around August Underway In Walnut Creek

Arts Around August, a month-long celebration of the performing, visual, cultural and culinary arts, is underway in downtown Walnut Creek.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Arts Around August, a month-long celebration of the performing, visual, cultural and culinary arts, is underway in downtown Walnut Creek.

Events and activities are planned throughout the month, including experiences for both families and adults such as Summer Concerts at Broadway Plaza, First Wednesday Street Faire with live bands and a second stage with Diablo Symphony Orchestra, Downtown Stages, Moveable Feasts, Family Day at the Lesher Center, Pop-up Opera performances and many more activities.

Friday, Aug. 5, noon- 5 p.m.: Free First Friday at Bedford Gallery Visit Bedford Gallery for FREE the first Friday of each month! Discover how 65 artists reimagine money into art in their current exhibition, Cultural Currency: Contemporary Art from the Riemer Collection

Sunday, Aug. 7, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.: Music Day at the Lesher Center

Wednesday, Aug. 10, 4 p.m.-8 p.m.: Arts Workshop and Ceramics Pop Up at Waterlight Plaza

Join Bedford Gallery docents for a family-friendly walking tour of murals in downtown Walnut Creek and try your hand at mural-making in the gallery afterward!

Saturday, Aug. 20, 10 a.m.-11 a.m.: Public Walking Art Tour

Join Bedford Gallery docents and Mayor Francois on a Public Art Walking Tour around the LCA, City Hall, and Civic Park.

Sunday, Aug. 21, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.: Family Day at the Lesher Center
