WALNUT CREEK, CA – Summer is coming to an end, and local schools have started opening their doors for instruction.

With that in mind, we've prepared a list of key dates to watch for in the upcoming 2022-2023 academic calendar year in Walnut Creek-area schools.

Keep in mind these dates are subject to change.

Walnut Creek School District

• First Day of School: Wednesday, Aug. 10
• Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 21-25
• Winter Break: Dec. 19-Jan. 2
• Spring Break: April 3-7
• Last Day of School: Friday, May 26

Mount Diablo Unified School District

• First Day of School: Thursday, Aug. 11
• School Recess/Thanksgiving Holiday: Nov. 21-25
• Winter Recess: Dec. 22-Jan. 6 (school resumes Jan. 9)
• Spring Recess: April 3-7
• Last Day of School: Friday, June 2
