Calling All Pet Lovers For Upcoming Fundraiser In Walnut Creek
East Bay fundraiser for furry friends on Sept. 14 complete with paw-off for best-dressed and pet look-a-like contests.
WALNUT CREEK, CA — Regardless of species or pedigree, pets are expensive.
The upcoming Joybound Around Town pet festival is meant to help lighten the load of caring for a pet so that more of them have a home.
Dogs and cats are the guests of honor at the festival, which will mark its 25th anniversary (sorry, no winged or finned pets).

This year's event includes a "paw-rade" walk, pet wellness festival, and best-dressed pet contest on the main stage, as well as roving pet look-a-like contests throughout the day. Humans are welcome to come as their favorite animal character, but they'll take back seat to the Toto and other look-a-likes.
To date the event's organizer, Joybound People & Pets, has raised $13,051 toward the goal of $87,000 for services in Contra Costa County, including veterinary care.
