City Cancels Flow Trail Proposed For Lime Ridge Open Space

With so many other projects underway in Walnut Creek, city staff cannot devote enough time to the proposed trail.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — City staff recently canceled a mountain biking trail proposed for Lime Ridge Open Space.

The Parks, Recreation and Open Space Commission discussed the so-called flow trail many times; however, Public Works staff is currently focusing on several high-priority projects and cannot devote more time to discretionary projects, according to a city news release Wednesday.

The replacement of the pools and community center at Heather Farm Park will occupy an extraordinary amount of time in the coming years. Other major projects are underway in the city including improvements to the Boundary Oak Golf Course, installing ballfield lights at Tice Valley Park, and the turf replacement project at Heather Farm Park.

The city said Open Space staff will likely be involved in some of the mitigation efforts for those projects and will continue to focus their efforts on the list of recommendations developed by the Trail Committee in 2020.
