Couple Robbed At Gunpoint In Walnut Creek, Police Say

Police were investigating the incident and seeking at least two suspects who were wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Two people were walking in downtown Walnut Creek after having dinner when they were robbed by two men, the Walnut Creek Police Department said.

The armed robbery happened at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Botelho Drive and Locust Street, police Lt. Holley Connors said.

The couple was approached by two masked men, one of whom pointed a handgun at them and demanded their possessions, Connors said.

The victims were not injured, according to police.

The victims described the robbers as two black males in their late teens or early 20s who were both wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks. Two other male associates were standing by a white sedan, and all four males left in the car toward Broadway Plaza.

Officers searched the area for the car and notified surrounding agencies but it was not immediately found.
